• Contraception

Would this Petition Outlaw the Use of Contraception?

No. This petition would not affect the legality of contraceptive birth control. However, the petition would abolish any and all forms of contragestive birth control, which kill pre-born babies.

    Contraceptive vs. Contragestive Birth Control

Contraceptive birth control (Contraception) prevents conception or fertilization, meaning a new human being is not created. Contragestive birth control (Contragestion) prevents implantation, making the uterus an inhospitable environment for the newly conceived human being. Contragestion changes a woman's body to reject a newly conceived human being from safely implanting in her womb, killing the baby.

What are Some Examples of Contragestive Birth Control?

The Morning-After Pill/Plan-B, Intrauterine Devices (IUDs), Implants (Implanon), and the Birth Control Pill.

What are Some Examples of Contraceptive Birth Control?

Natural Family Planning (NFP), Male and Female Condoms

Can the Birth Control Pill Really Kill a Baby?

    Yes. According to WebMD,

"Hormonal contraceptives can also prevent pregnancy by changing the lining of the womb so it's unlikely the fertilized egg will be implanted."

One of the functions of birth control pills is to change the lining of the uterus to make the newly conceived human being unable to attach to it - leading to the death of the child.

    In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

    Would the Petition Outlaw IVF?

The petition would not abolish the practice of IVF in and of itself. However, the petition would abolish the intentional destruction of any pre-born human beings in the IVF process. The petition would classify the intentional killing of pre-born human beings as murder, regardless of how they were conceived. This means that the hundreds of thousands of frozen human beings created through the practice of IVF could not be killed or experimented on.

Is there a Rape/Incest Exception in the Petition?

No. Although rape-conceived children have repeatedly been abandoned by pro-life legislation, such exceptions are deplorable. All pre-born children should be protected from murder, including those whose fathers are rapists.

Is There a "Life of the Mother" Exception in the Petition?

Our petition classifies the intentional killing of a pre-born human being as murder. This would not classify life-saving medical intervention that inadvertently leads to the death of a child as murder. In a case where the utmost care was given to protect both the life of the mother and the life of her pre-born child, but where the pre-born child did not survive, the situation would be deemed a tragedy, not a murder.
